Type FK03 10-Compartment 1st Class Coach

The resounding success of the RSR's nostalgia express programme soon made it necessary to provide additional rolling stock. In response to customer requirements (determined by means of questionnaires and selective passenger interviews), more space per person was provided in these new coaches, hence only ten compartments instead of the previous eleven. Also, certain disadvantages of the 1994 series of stock, in particular the voice-recognition door controls, were abandoned. The very seldom-used movable compartment walls were also not perpetuated. The interior decor was again classical Art Déco, but in the style of 1937. The practice of naming of the coaches after American cities was continued. The external livery remained forest green, but with a somewhat different arrangement of the horizontal stripes, to match the new livery of the locomotives.
