K07L Composite Compartment Coach
Designed
by Bela
Šahlmeti
Rebuilt
in 1902 by RSR Works, Bevice-Akohniçe, Ruhnia
The
third generation of local passenger stock on the RSR is typified by the
coach shown here. Its family resemblance to the 1897 series is
unmistakable. In this vehicle Šahlmeti
added a central gangway, foreshadowing British commuter stock of the
1950s, and improved upholstery. One second-class compartment was
replaced with a lavatory compartment with access for both classes.
Below the solebars these carriages were identical with their ancestors,
retaining gas lighting until the 1930s.
