Here we see a number of
"what-would-have-beens" showing the Flaman boiler of the class O 0-8-0
of 1878 fitted to a variety of other chassis. It's amazing, actually,
just how many examples of a good fit there are. The only adjustment
needed was in the length of the smokebox, which under RSR engineering
standards is not, strictly speaking, part of the boiler. The R class
4-4-2 had to have its valve gear turned upside-down.
